Access

  • Highway access from the junction of Autoroutes 40 and 440 via Boulevard Henri Bourrassa, South
  • Rail connections with Canadian National/Illinois Central Railways and Canadian Pacific – Quebec – Gatineau Railways Systems
  • 2 deepwater tanker/barge berths in the St. Charles River estuary adjoining the main channel of the St. Lawrence River

Facilities

  • 53 tanks, 2.0 million barrels total capacity ranging in size from 630 barrels through 217,000 barrels
  • Tanks meet all emissions, spill control and inspection compliance standards; many are insulated and lined for special chemical service
  • Tanker/barge berths have no LOA or beam restrictions and have a draft of 39 and 41 feet at low tide (the 15 feet tidal range can be used to accommodate deeper draft vessels)
  • Railcar loading/unloading facilities adjoin the IMTT private marshalling yard (120 jumbo car capacity) from which a private switch engine provides service
  • Truck and rail facilities are equipped with scales
  • Flexible infrastructure in place for efficient blending, heating, cooling, and tank cleaning services

  • Fully secure facility within Port of Quebec complex
  • Spill control capabilities meet requirements of Canada Marine Act with the facility served by a fully accredited spill contractor
  • Chemical resistant membrane containment within dikes
